The Position

We’re looking to grow our product and engineering team to help build the next generation of our platform. In this role, you’ll work side-by-side with our CTO and product team to design, architect, and launch complex new features and systems with a special focus on crafting a beautiful user experience.

This role is remote within the US only.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate closely with product, design, and our CTO to build new user and internal-facing solutions from start to finish.
• Design and architect new systems, with a special focus on crafting a beautiful and performant user experience.
• Use your full-stack engineering knowledge to build features on our platform that solve problems for our customers and internal teams.
• Identify opportunities for improving the platform based on data, research, and your own insight and creativity.
• Influence product strategy and the roadmap by working closely with the Head of Product.
• Conduct code reviews and provide project-specific technical mentorship to engineers

Requirements

• 4+ years of full-time software engineering experience
• Familiarity with or experience in some or all of our current tech stack: Ruby on Rails, Javascript/React, SQL/Postgres, Heroku
• Demonstrated ability to develop full stack web applications and experience, working with external APIs
• Ability to ramp up quickly and own features end-to-end

Our Hiring Process

1. Submit your application. Stand out with a well formatted resume in PDF format that allows our recruiters to quickly assess your industry expertise and top skills. We look for applicants with data driven methods, so go ahead and include some numbers!
2. Intro Call. We will contact applicants whose skills are a match to set up a 20-30 minute intro call. This is just as much of an opportunity for you to learn about us as it is for us to learn about you. We’ll dive into your background, provide context about the role, and answer any questions you may have about Pathrise.
3. Assignment. The intro call is followed by a take-home assignment. Assignments are our way of gauging a candidate’s written communication and their critical thinking skills.
4. Hiring Manager Interview. Candidates will complete a 30 - 45 min 2nd round interview with the hiring manager via Google Meet. This interview may take many forms: a mock call, an advising session, or a simple Q&A format.
5. Final Round. Congrats on making it to the final round! This stage consists of a multi-part interview which entails an panel with our cultural values team, an interview with relevant team members such as Operations, Admissions, etc, and sometimes a meeting with our CEO or CPO.
