The Position

As a DevOps engineer you will be part of a small team of engineers that run the development, test, and production infrastructure at eyeo. The team is quite diverse and they value transparency, honesty and fairness. They work closely with the other Infrastructure and Platforms engineering teams, setting up their own processes and avoiding bureaucracy.

After your morning routine, you'll be expected to

  • Monitor production infrastructure, mitigate incidents
  • Maintain, extend and evolve our DevOps platforms to support stakeholders needs
  • Automate provisioning and similar processes related to a variety of technical team work
  • Continuously improve code, processes and service quality through reviews, pair programming, backlog triage etc

Requirements

What you bring to the table

  • Very good English, especially in writing
  • Experience in remote-first work environments
  • Strong background in Debian/Ubuntu Linux administration
  • Extensive experience with at least one infrastructure-as-code tool stack like Ansible and Terraform
  • Experience with Unix shell and a programming language such as Python or Go
  • Solid experience in software engineering, preferably having built/patched and maintained software using open-source methods
  • Extensive experience with cloud computing
  • Self-sufficient and self-motivated
  • Privacy-aware
  • Within CET3 hours or willing to relocate into CET3 hours

It's awesome if you know about

  • Self-hosted Kubernetes and on a platform such as GCP, AWS or similar
  • Automating work with servers in the hundreds and thousands
  • Code maintenance and instrumentation
  • Deep understanding on how the web protocols work
  • Efficiently working remotely with internal stakeholders
  • Comfortable with major technical responsibility
  • Performance and optimization skills
  • Experience interacting with IaaS/SaaS/PaaS APIs

Our Hiring Process

  3. Case study - The recruiter assigns you a relevant case study to be completed before your first interview. This case study is intended to give you an idea of what to expect from the position and gives us insight into your technical and analytical skills.
  4. First interview - Next, you’re invited to your first interview. The recruiter works with you to set up a convenient time and sends a meeting link. One to two members from your future team ask questions focused on your skills and experiences relevant to the position.
  5. Second interview - The second interview is also with members from the same team, but this time the questions focus on how you would fit into the eyeo team.
  6. Final interview - The final interview is with the lead(s) of your potential future team. After this interview, if it's a good fit for you and us, we hire you!
