The Position

The Senior Software Engineer, Backend is an independent problem solver who can also work well on a team. In this role, the Senior Software Engineer, Backend will be responsible for the implementation of our backend services and infrastructure. You will take on new feature development from conception to completion, as well as maintaining and improving existing services. Our product team is a combination of researchers, designers, and engineers who are responsible for ensuring that we build the right product for our clients and deliver on exceptional user experiences.


  • Solve our business/product needs pragmatically through new custom software, enhancements, bug fixes, or consulting.
  • Lead mid-sized development projects from start to finish including technical requirements gathering, data modeling, technology selection, and deployment.
  • Understand and participate in the design of customized solutions.
  • Make sure coded solutions will function/work within all environments considering all infrastructure differences.
  • Actively participating in code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot upper environment issues.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively to meet our delivery expectations.
  • Mentor teammates to share your knowledge and build a stronger team.

  • BS in computer science or equivalent practical experience
  • Five or more years experience with C# (4.x, .NET Core)
  • Deep understanding of version control (Git) and code hosting (Github)
  • Deep understanding of SQL databases (SQL Server / Postgres)
  • Deep understanding of REST API's
  • Strong understanding of networking (HTTP protocol, load balancing, IP addressing)
  • Strong understanding of web servers (nginx)
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience working within a software as a service (SaaS) company preferred.
  • Experience working within a high growth and/or ambiguous environment, with proven experience to be dynamic preferred.

Bonus Points

  • Worked with the Swagger, Swashbuckle or other kinds of API documentation tooling
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and other containerization methods

6. Onboarding

After signing the offer, we will begin onboarding. A talent acquisition team member will act as your steward for this process and be available for questions.
